Meet the Leaders: Penny Grosenheider, Procurement Manager

2/21/2025

As the Procurement Manager at Aladdin Steel, Penny Grosenheider thrives on the challenges her role presents, particularly the problem-solving aspects that keep each day dynamic and engaging. She remains motivated by her deep dedication to family and a strong work ethic.

Penny’s career journey began in the fields, detasseling corn for her first job. Over time, she transitioned into office work, with Aladdin Steel being her first professional employment office setting, where she began as a procurement assistant and gained the knowledge and understanding necessary to be promoted to her current role of Procurement Manager. As a child she dreamt of becoming a paleontologist, but as an adult, found fulfillment in the fast-paced world of procurement.

Working in the purchasing industry is dependent on building professional relationships and stocking products to maintain inventory and fulfill the promises of account managers. No relationship or conversation in Penny’s day is made in passing. Creating strong working relationships helps Aladdin stay at the forefront of the steel industry with the added benefit of nurturing strong friendships around the world. While we maintain one of the largest indoor stocks of steel tubing, Penny’s ability to grow these relationships is instrumental when we have rush orders needing filled. Her contacts know she can be counted on for her clear communication and commitment to them, making the negotiations seamless and processes smooth.

Outside of work, Penny enjoys spending time on the golf course, especially on a perfect 75-degree, sunny day. She takes great pride in her greatest accomplishment—raising children who have grown into loving, hardworking, and responsible adults. She lives by the simple yet powerful advice to “enjoy each day as if it’s your last,” embracing both life and work with passion and determination.
